Fairoz Haji Salleh

Fairoz Haji Salleh, a stalwart in academia, dedicated three decades of her life to the development and enrichment of education at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), leaving an indelible mark from July 1990 to December 2022. Her academic journey, rooted in the pursuit of excellence, reflects a commitment to teaching and administrative leadership.

Fairoz holds a distinguished academic background, graduating from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, USA, with both a Master and Bachelor of Science in Curriculum and Instructions, specializing in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), particularly adults. Her academic prowess laid the foundation for a multifaceted career at UiTM.

Throughout her tenure, Fairoz played pivotal roles in various administrative capacities at the Academy of Language Studies and within the university's management. From being a resource person and coordinator at the Academy to leading the International Office of UiTM, she showcased versatility in her administrative roles. Notably, she served as the Head of ICAN (Industry, Community, and Alumni Centre) Communications Centre and Special Officer to the Vice Chancellor, contributing to the strategic direction of the university. Fairoz's involvement extended beyond the classroom and administrative corridors. Her contributions to writing and editing at the Office of Corporate Communications UiTM, Office of ICAN, Accounting Research Institute, and involvement in QS Curation and Advertisement underscore her commitment to effective communication and dissemination of institutional achievements.

In her diverse academic portfolio, Fairoz excelled in teaching various English courses at both the diploma and degree levels. She also pioneered specially designed courses for entities such as the Ministry of Human Resource, Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-based Industry, Office of Registrar UiTM, private companies, and the Institute of Graduate Studies (UiTM).

Her administrative journey is a testament to her leadership acumen, having served as the Special Officer to the Vice Chancellor, Head of Communications Centre ICAN, Coordinator for IT and Training, Coordinator for Academic Courses-Degree, and Head of UiTM International Centre, among other roles.
