Azhar Bin Mustafa

Azhar Bin Mustafa is a seasoned professional in the Hospitality Education and Operation sector, with a specialized focus on Culinary and Food Service industries. His career is marked by a deep passion for food production and food safety, alongside a robust network within the industry. Known for his leadership in culinary education, Azhar consistently seeks challenging environments where he can apply his skills in training and event management to drive growth and excellence.

Previously serving as the Head of Program for Culinary Arts at Erican College, Kuala Lumpur, Azhar has been pivotal in ensuring the institution’s compliance with quality assurance and regulatory standards since 2017. His role involves the management of academic systems, the development and implementation of major institutional projects, and the maintenance of a high-quality student learning environment. He is also responsible for leading the culinary department, ensuring that the facilities meet the college’s standards, and coordinating hospitality programs and industry events.

Prior to his current role, Azhar gained valuable experience as a Senior Cook at Shitamachi Tendon Akimitsu from 2016 to 2017, where he honed advanced Asian culinary techniques and managed kitchen operations, including menu planning and food preparation. Additionally, as a Cook for CPCOOKS Food on Wheels from 2015 to 2016, he oversaw the day-to-day operations of a mobile food business, demonstrating his entrepreneurial skills in managing food production, customer service, and business strategy.

Azhar’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Science (Honors) in Food Service Management and a Diploma in Culinary Arts from Universiti Teknologi MARA, where he developed a strong foundation in food service management and culinary arts. His commitment to continuous learning is evident from his participation in various professional development workshops, including training in Occupational Safety & Health, HACCP, and Outcome Based Education. Fluent in both Bahasa Melayu and English, Azhar enjoys multimedia, gardening, and sports in his personal time, and he is always looking to leverage his expertise to contribute meaningfully to the culinary and hospitality sectors.
