Dr. Muhammad Umar has been a member of the Faculty of Law at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) since 2012, and he presently holds the position of Head of the Centre of Studies (Undergraduate) within the Faculty. Specialising in corporate law and corporate governance, he has authored numerous articles published in Scopus and WOS-indexed journals related to corporate governance. Additionally, Dr. Umar is currently overseeing the research of a PhD student in the field of corporate governance. He is currently a consultant to a project to review and propose the existing legislation on polytechnic and community college under the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE).
Before joining UiTM, he served as an associate at the largest law firm in Malaysia, where his responsibilities included conducting corporate due diligence, corporate advisory services, as well as drafting and reviewing agreements.
